What is Accelerated Resolution Therapy?
Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) is a brief, evidence-based therapy that helps people process and move past distressing memories, experiences, or symptoms.
ART utilizes eye movements, similar to the motions we experience during REM sleep, to process out reactive body sensations, taking away the distress of the memory. The memory remains, but the reaction to the memory is reduced or eliminated.

What to expect in an ART session
Typically a 60-90 minute appointment, you remain fully in control and are aware throughout the process. You don't have to share all of the details. Most people notice significant relief in 1-5 sessions.

-Adults, teens and older kids who can follow simple directions.
-Individuals who want relief from distressing memories, emotions, or body sensations.

Who may not be a good candidate for ART
-Individuals with certain untreated medical or neurological conditions that impact concentration or eye movements.
-People currently experiencing active psychosis.
-People Actively using alcohol or other drugs.
-Individuals in the middle of a severe crisis who may first need stabilization.
How to prepare for an ART session
-Avoid excess caffeine and mind altering substances.
-Take medications as prescribed.
-If you wear contact lenses, prepare to wear eye glasses to ART appointments to avoid any complications with eye movements.
After your ART session
-Plan for relaxation or self-care. Your brain will do a lot of work, so you may feel tired afterwards.
