Marissa is a Licensed Social Worker (LSW) in the state of New Jersey, with licensure in New York as a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW). She received her Bachelors of the Arts in Psychology from SUNY- University at Albany in 2012, and completed her Masters in Social Work (MSW) with a Clinical focus from Boston University in 2019. 

Helping individuals on their journey has always been Marissa's life passion. Marissa has worked with children, adolescents and adults struggling with differing mental and physical health concerns as well as substance use disorders since 2018.

With experience in Intensive Outpatient, Outpatient, Hospital and Community Mental Health and Substance Abuse Treatment facilities, Marissa has worked with clients who are experiencing interpersonal or intrapersonal difficulties, relationship difficulties, Anxiety, Depression, Trauma, and coping with life events and health-related diagnoses, such as Cancer. Marissa has received training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Cognitive Processing Therapy.

Utilizing a client-centered approach, Marissa tailors each client's treatment focusing on the individual as a whole. Using a strengths-based approach, Marissa helps clients to recognize their own strengths and abilities while empowering individuals to uncover, pursue, and achieve their goals utilizing an empathic, solution-focused lens. 

*As an LSW, Marissa will be under direct Clinical Supervision, following professional and ethical guidelines for conducting clinical counseling while working toward her full licensure as an LCSW and LCADC professional.*
