CHRISTOPHER LARRES, LPC, LCADC
Christopher received his BA in Psychology from William Paterson University, where he also completed the Social Sciences Honors program. He then attended Rutgers' Graduate School of Education for his Masters in Professional Counseling, and finally at Monmouth University for additional graduate credits.
Chris has been in the field since 2010 and is a dual-licensed mental health counselor, with significant experience in working with those with substance use disorders. He has been a counselor at various substance use treatment programs, treating adolescents and adults, and also was the clinical director of an inpatient detox.
Chris has also worked with adolescents with emotional and behavioral issues doing in-home therapy for 5 years. He currently is a supervisor of an outpatient mental health and psychiatry program.
Chris utilizes a client-centered approach and Motivational Interviewing to develop a rapport and assist the client in identifying personal, internal motivation for change, while also focusing on goals and solutions. Those struggling with substance use issues, depression, anxiety, interpersonal problems, and various other issues with also benefit from Cognitive-Behavioral Therapies.
